market report for the week ending September 25th, 2026

The cattle market remained steady at our Friday, September 25 sale. Butcher cows and bulls sold in line with last week’s market, while calves and yearlings traded from steady to 10 cents per pound higher. The stronger calf and yearling prices added a positive note to this week’s sale.

Mature rams, nannies and ewes sold steady to 15¢ higher. Ram and ewe lambs sold steady to 20¢ higher. Kid billies and doelings sold steady to 25¢ per head higher, to very good demand. Lambs are kept under cover and provided water from the time they are unloaded at Stettler Auction Market Limited. Weekly sheep, lamb and goat pick-up is available throughout Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Call 1-403-742-2368 anytime.
